A collision led to Hipatía getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Teofilo Fernandes hit a great ball. Remigio Acosta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Ignatius having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rigoberto Pereyra in the 22nd minute of play forced Trinidad FC's goalkeeper Evelio Nuxila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dalmacio Martinez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armando Ignatius read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Dalmacio Martinez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 32 played minutes Trinidad FC got a freekick which was hit by Alvaro Norino. Moises Xacintu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 36th minute, Dalmacio Martinez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Trinidad FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a rather tough play, Hipatía's Freddy Ado got a free kick in the 40th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Hipatía's zone, Dalmacio Martinez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Ignatius came out of the goal and Dalmacio Martinez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Trinidad FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dalmacio Martinez to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Hipatía booed when Trinidad FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvaro Norino didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 91 in the game by Remigio Acosta from a close distance when the talented Armando Ignatius managed to make a qualified save. Hipatía's players were relieved. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alvaro Norino during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 95th match minute, Trinidad FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Norino to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Trinidad FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Hipatía throughout the match.
