Spectators: 7107 (Terracing: 5332, Seating: 1634, VIP seats: 141) peñarol's Gaspar Precioso started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes peñarol got a freekick which was hit by Octavio Corderun. Aureliano Rufio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Joaquim Aguiar came out and tried to block the shot, but Aureliano Rufio slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albino Rayman in the 10th minute of play forced peñarol's goalkeeper Joaquim Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquim Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aureliano Rufio in the 19th minute of play. Joaquim Aguiar made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Lisandro Ortzi sent off a good shot on target. 22 minutes into the match, peñarol's goal looked a bit too open when Aureliano Rufio came free, but Joaquim Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 23 minutes of play, peñarol's Pere Lopez de Toro made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cirilo Otsoa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gombal Feijoo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cirilo Otsoa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Lisandro Bautista was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 29 minutes into the match. peñarol's Joaquim Aguiar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save peñarol from getting a goal against them. Octavio Corderun kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Aureliano Rufio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 39 minutes into the game, Gaspar Precioso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. peñarol's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guemes Junior the free kick. The supporters of Guemes Junior booed when peñarol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaspar Precioso didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Efrain Isias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquim Aguiar. peñarol's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Efrain Isias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. With a little luck, peñarol's Joaquim Aguiar got control of the ball when Efrain Isias tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Aureliano Rufio made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Guemes Junior got a freekick which was hit by Angelo Roldanillo. 54 minutes into the match, Albino Rayman notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of peñarol's Joaquim Aguiar. Joaquim Aguiar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joaquim Aguiar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Baraquiel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joaquim Aguiar came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Guemes Junior's Lisandro Ortzi. But to his dismay, Lisandro Ortzi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. In the 87th minute, Lisandro Ortzi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquim Aguiar was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. Albino Rayman scored 7-1 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquim Aguiar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. There was no doubt that Guemes Junior were the better team. Guemes Junior's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
