After having played for 48 minutes, Marcelo Gamus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Argentinos del Sur's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelo Gamus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lucas Neto was the one to do the kick off. After 57 minutes, Diego Ezkerra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Argentinos del Sur and the Lanús players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 85th minute there was a penalty for Argentinos del Sur. Cayetano Abecia stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Patricio Cibran. 1-1. Marcelo Gamus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patricio Cibran having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Argentinos del Sur's Tiburcio Vela dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. After 92 played minutes Lanús got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Jaunzuria. When Marcelo Gamus came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Argentinos del Sur fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelo Gamus couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Argentinos del Sur could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lanús throughout the match.
