Jonatan Kusko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Xacintu in the 23rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Delmar Donio during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Lion FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Delmar Donio hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, iriarte IFC's goalkeeper Guillermo Xabel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Delmar Donio. Jonatan Kusko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Segundo Canor, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Serafin Bernard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Lion FC booed when iriarte IFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnoldo Garikoitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, iriarte IFC's goal looked a bit too open when Serafin Bernard came free, but Guillermo Xabel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 75th minute, Ciaran Appleby got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ramon Modestio hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by German Urbes in the 83rd minute of play forced iriarte IFC's goalkeeper Guillermo Xabel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Lion FC fans' excitement grew in the 86th match minute when Lion FC's Serafin Bernard looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Serafin Bernard took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Guillermo Xabel. Guillermo Xabel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. iriarte IFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
