LaFunky Gomez's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave banfield the free kick. A collision led to LaFunky Gomez getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Teofilo Virila hit a great ball. If Nicasio Jakue had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, Nicasio Jakue notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of LaFunky Gomez's Braulio Unai. Braulio Unai was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The LaFunky Gomez players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. banfield were winning 0-2.

Casimiro Millano hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in banfield's zone, Efrain Mergildo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luisito Honesto came out of the goal and Efrain Mergildo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Nicasio Jakue managed to get in a good position for a shot. banfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicasio Jakue was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Braulio Unai breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to LaFunky Gomez getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Teofilo Virila hit a great ball. Braulio Unai was a little too slow when Nicasio Jakue got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 74th minute. The score was now 0-3. banfield's Luisito Honesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saturnino Abel in the 88th minute of play. Gabriel Cefero, 91 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The supporters of LaFunky Gomez booed when banfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Candido Pello didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute of the match Gabriel Cefero shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luisito Honesto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Although LaFunky Gomez had been in control for most of the match, banfield still came away with the win.
