The referee ignored Lobo FC's protests and gave Basilio Oso a yellow card for diving instead. 5 minutes into the game, one of Lobo FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Justino Fernandez, was totally fooled by Atlético de Madrid's Francisco Victoro, who 8 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Virgilio Damario fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justino Fernandez having to interfere. Jacinto Fanuco hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético de Madrid's zone, Teofilo Tadzio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Leguizamón came out of the goal and Teofilo Tadzio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Mincho in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernando Leguizamón saved Atlético de Madrid from getting behind. Bruno Lluterio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Leguizamón having to interfere. When Prudencio Haimar fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlético de Madrid's protests and gave Prudencio Haimar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute there was a penalty for Lobo FC. Teofilo Tadzio stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fernando Leguizamón. 1-1. 42 minutes into the match, Atlético de Madrid's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Mincho came free, but Fernando Leguizamón reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Mincho in the 45th minute of play forced Atlético de Madrid's goalkeeper Fernando Leguizamón to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Atlético de Madrid's Fernando Leguizamón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugenio Truylos in the 46th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Virgilio Damario made the kick off in the second half. Bruno Lluterio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Fernando Leguizamón tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruno Lluterio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Atlético de Madrid's Fernando Leguizamón proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Atlético de Madrid from getting a goal against them. Manuel Mincho in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Fernando Leguizamón, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 73 played minutes Atlético de Madrid got a freekick which was hit by Virgilio Damario. Justino Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgilio Damario in the 84th minute of play. With a little luck, Atlético de Madrid's Fernando Leguizamón got control of the ball when Manuel Mincho tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 97th minute Virgilio Damario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justino Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Lobo FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
