In the 3rd minute, Plaza Futbol Club's Aurelio Gartzea seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Aurelio Gartzea the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Plaza Futbol Club protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Aurelio Gartzea had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 2 minutes into the game, one of Plaza Futbol Club:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Salvador Camerino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albino Hanot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santiago Botello in the 9th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Palermo's Cirilo Piarres got a free kick in the 15th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 22 minutes into the game, when Rene Iratze put in a rough tackle. 21 minutes into the game, one of Palermo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Albino Hanot had in the 23rdth minute some difficulties stopping Freddy Regis's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. A collision led to Plaza Futbol Club getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Pascual Venceslao hit a great ball. Albino Hanot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Poz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albino Hanot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cleto Santio, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Lisandro Nuxila made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julio Ihazintu in the 34th minute. Albino Hanot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcial Sustrai in the 40th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Palermo's Salvador Camerino got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After 45 minutes of play, Plaza Futbol Club's Jesus Mirande made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Albino Hanot was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Julio Ihazintu made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Palermo's zone, Santiago Botello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albino Hanot came out of the goal and Santiago Botello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Cleto Santio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Palermo's Albino Hanot got control of the ball when Marcial Sustrai tried to sneak it across the goal line. Santiago Botello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albino Hanot having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Julio Ihazintu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palermo's supporters rose to their feet, but Julio Ihazintu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lisandro Nuxila breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Palermo's Albino Hanot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesus Mirande in the 63rd minute of play. Santiago Botello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Albino Hanot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Poz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Santiago Botello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lisandro Nuxila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Ihazintu in the 80th minute of play. Santiago Botello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albino Hanot having to interfere. Lisandro Nuxila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Ihazintu in the 93rd minute of play. Santiago Botello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
