Leonel Urtzi ran back to his position shaking his head. Arturo Honesto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 25th minute, Hipolito Jaizki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th play minute Fernan Blasco came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Santos Orti. 1-0. When Hipolito Jaizki fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aldao's protests and gave Hipolito Jaizki a yellow card for diving instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Delmar Vidal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arturo Honesto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 58 minutes into the game, Jacobo Botello lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Ildefonso Hitz. Jacobo Botello struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Leonel Urtzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ildefonso Hitz having to interfere. Ildefonso Hitz made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Jacobo Botello sent off a good shot on target. Jacobo Botello might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ildefonso Hitz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacobo Botello ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Jacobo Botello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ildefonso Hitz was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. Arturo Honesto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ildefonso Hitz having to interfere. When Arturo Honesto came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Aldao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Honesto couldn't finish the play.
