The tension between the Calilegua and the Devoto players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th minute, Calilegua's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Isaias Bilbo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Carolo Pabla scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cleto Fernandes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Isaias Bilbo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Henning Strickertson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Isaias Bilbo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Henning Strickertson, 1-1. The supporters of Calilegua booed when Devoto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Florian in the 31st minute of play forced Devoto's goalkeeper Cleto Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cleto Fernandes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carolo Pabla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Devoto's Cleto Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Florian in the 34th minute of play. Cleto Fernandes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Florian in the 36th minute of play. Henning Strickertson was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Isaias Bilbo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Isaias Bilbo really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. 42 minutes into the match, Devoto's goal looked a bit too open when Alvaro Florian came free, but Cleto Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cleto Fernandes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carolo Pabla, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Cleto Fernandes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Florian in the 45th minute of play. Devoto's Cleto Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Florian in the 48th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

If Teofilo Reyes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
