The supporters of Racing Club booed when La Plata FCA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fulgencio Norino didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Felix Iaki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Iaki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clodoveo Sugar during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Racing Club's Clodoveo Sugar got a free kick in the 11th minute. After a defensive mix-up in La Plata FCA's zone, Camilo Raphael stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robustiano Acosta came out of the goal and Camilo Raphael tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 15 minutes into the match, Racing Club's Camilo Raphael sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Robustiano Acosta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 17th minute by Felix Iaki got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Iaki in the 18th minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Ermegildo Bembe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celedonio Berdaitz hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Celedonio Berdaitz charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Celedonio Berdaitz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bernabe Hustaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. La Plata FCA's Edgardo Piearres got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 39 played minutes La Plata FCA got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Sergi. Robustiano Acosta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernabe Hustaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The supporters of Racing Club booed when La Plata FCA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Garikoitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ermegildo Bembe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Iaki, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Camilo Raphael sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Iaki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ermegildo Bembe having to interfere. Ermegildo Bembe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Reno in the 69th minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, La Plata FCA's goalkeeper Robustiano Acosta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernabe Hustaz. Camilo Raphael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robustiano Acosta having to interfere. When Camilo Raphael came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Racing Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Camilo Raphael couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Enrique Reno managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Plata FCA's supporters rose to their feet, but Enrique Reno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ermegildo Bembe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Robustiano Acosta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elvio Chuan in the 84th minute of play. A collision led to Racing Club getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Tomas Sauveur hit a great ball. When Felix Iaki came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the La Plata FCA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Iaki couldn't finish the play. In the 90th match minute, La Plata FCA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Americo Maties to maneuver through the defense. After 93 played minutes La Plata FCA got a freekick which was hit by Amado Quexal. After a defensive mix-up in La Plata FCA's zone, Bernabe Hustaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robustiano Acosta came out of the goal and Bernabe Hustaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Racing Club were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
