Carlos Cebrian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Jordy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to potrero getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Alfonso Txanton hit a great ball. In the 16th minute, River Plate's Gatot Macri ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Carolo Gamus. Carolo Gamus yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The audience was convinced that Jacinto Jordy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Cebrian was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. After 21 minutes of play, potrero's Alfonso Txanton made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Cebrian was left in no man's land by his defense there! 23 minutes into the game, Fabio Bixintxo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. potrero's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave River Plate the free kick. A collision led to potrero getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Fabio Bixintxo hit a great ball. Venancio Bidari sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Cebrian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabricio Raebert, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Venancio Bidari might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carolo Gamus. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Venancio Bidari ran back to his position shaking his head. Carolo Gamus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gatot Macri in the 34th minute of play. Venancio Bidari recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in potrero's zone, Gatot Macri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carolo Gamus came out of the goal and Gatot Macri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Venancio Bidari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carolo Gamus having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Alfonso Txanton made the kick off in the second half. potrero's Carolo Gamus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gatot Macri in the 57th minute of play. Venancio Bidari sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gatot Macri came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gatot Macri couldn't finish the play. After 71 minutes of play, River Plate's Venancio Bidari made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carolo Gamus was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Venancio Bidari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gatot Macri scored 3-1 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carolo Gamus, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 88th minute Alfonso Txanton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Cebrian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Venancio Bidari came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Venancio Bidari couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The River Plate fans cheered their team off the field, for while potrero had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
