After 4 played minutes BARCELONA FC got a freekick which was hit by Jonas Toli. 6 minutes into the match, Defensores de River Club's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Salvidor came free, but Narciso Leizarraga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ladislao Salvidor might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Narciso Leizarraga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ladislao Salvidor ran back to his position shaking his head. 13 minutes into the match, Defensores de River Club's Jeremias Cordareo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Blaise Michallek narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Edgardo Iban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Jonas Toli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to BARCELONA FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Mariano Emesto hit a great ball. Guaberto Che fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Leizarraga having to interfere. In the 34thth minute of the game Ladislao Salvidor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Defensores de River Club's Narciso Leizarraga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luisito Laurendi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Blaise Michallek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 43 played minutes Defensores de River Club got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Goren. Jeremias Cordareo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luisito Laurendi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Luisito Laurendi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Blaise Michallek. The goal made the score 1-1. When Jeremias Cordareo came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Defensores de River Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeremias Cordareo couldn't finish the play. Jeremias Cordareo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Blaise Michallek having to make a save. Luisito Laurendi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blaise Michallek having to interfere. After a rather tough play, BARCELONA FC's Leandro Conrao got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Blaise Michallek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgardo Iban in the 66th minute. After 67 minutes BARCELONA FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alejandro Iraido who took care of the corner kick. Defensores de River Club's Alejandro Iraido was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Blaise Michallek in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 70th minute Luisito Laurendi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blaise Michallek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Jeremias Cordareo notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of BARCELONA FC's Blaise Michallek. Blaise Michallek was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Guaberto Che had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Blaise Michallek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisito Laurendi, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. 87 minutes into the match, BARCELONA FC's goalkeeper Blaise Michallek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgardo Iban. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Artemio Remicio managed to get in a good position for a shot. BARCELONA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Artemio Remicio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Narciso Leizarraga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Blaise Michallek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisito Laurendi, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Defensores de River Club's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
