But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horacio Izotz couldn't finish the play. 9 minutes into the match, Filiberto Koldo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Humberto Abecia. Aicuña's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Filiberto Koldo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 16 minutes into the match, Aicuña's goal looked a bit too open when Filiberto Koldo came free, but Humberto Abecia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horacio Izotz in the 18th minute of play forced Aicuña's goalkeeper Humberto Abecia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Horacio Izotz put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Humberto Abecia. Humberto Abecia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filiberto Koldo in the 27th minute of play. Aicuña's Humberto Abecia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Feliberto Chuan in the 34th minute of play. Ermegildo Foro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andres Baumer, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Pastor Savion scored 1-4 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ermegildo Foro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Chaco FC's Horacio Izotz suffered a sore thigh after 44 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Francisco Llorian fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aicuña's protests and gave Francisco Llorian a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th match minute, Aicuña was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Llorian to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After 90 minutes, Arturo Ovando mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aicuña and the Chaco FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Arturo Ovando hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Paulo Reno made in the 92nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Chaco FC's Bernabe Raulo. Humberto Abecia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Filiberto Koldo in the 94th minute. The Aicuña fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Chaco FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
