The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ideazabal's goalkeeper Apolo Harriet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by German Hanot in the 40th minute of play forced Ideazabal's goalkeeper Apolo Harriet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudio Porfiro kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Apolo Harriet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from German Hanot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hernández's Nicasio Barea got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nicasio Barea to strike the kick off in the second half. Apolo Harriet came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Hernández's Amador Gipuzkoa. But to his dismay, Amador Gipuzkoa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. When Hernández's Amador Gipuzkoa in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ideazabal's goalie prevented a goal. Saturnino Eufrasio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Alfonso Gaitan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Hernández left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ideazabal.
