In the 23rdth minute of the game Paulino Haritz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pedernera's Victorino Ihazintu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 23 played minutes Pedernera got a freekick which was hit by Zeledon Dominguez. Victorino Ihazintu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulino Haritz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Emilio Ofelio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulino Haritz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victorino Ihazintu having to interfere. With a little luck, Pedernera's Victorino Ihazintu got control of the ball when Emilio Ofelio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Timoteo Bidun kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Leandro Kelemen, 35 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 36 played minutes Pedernera got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Dei. Victorino Ihazintu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulino Haritz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulino Haritz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulino Haritz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ambrosio Libertad hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. After having played for 60 minutes, Paulino Haritz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monteverde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulino Haritz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 72 minutes into the game, Paulino Haritz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Victorino Ihazintu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Victorino Ihazintu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilio Ofelio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ambrosio Libertad in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Celestino Etxekopar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gervasio Atauri's late challenge caught a Monteverde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gervasio Atauri helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Pedernera getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Gervasio Atauri hit a great ball. In the 79th minute Paulino Haritz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorino Ihazintu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ambrosio Libertad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celestino Etxekopar having to interfere. When Timoteo Bidun fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monteverde's protests and gave Timoteo Bidun a yellow card for diving instead. Conrado Mark charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Conrado Mark the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Conrado Mark kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Paulino Haritz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victorino Ihazintu was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Pedernera's goalkeeper Victorino Ihazintu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
