After having played for 7 minutes, Gavino Selmo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Colon de San Justo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gavino Selmo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gavino Selmo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Ubaldo Baldovino made a huge save. After 10 played minutes, Estudiantes's Freddy Innocenzio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Timoteo Vasco came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Estudiantes reached it. A collision led to Club Colon de San Justo getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Modesto Nesor hit a great ball. Delmar Afonso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Ubaldo Baldovino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Gavino Selmo came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Club Colon de San Justo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gavino Selmo couldn't finish the play. Gavino Selmo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Club Colon de San Justo getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Modesto Nesor hit a great ball. After 29 played minutes Estudiantes got a freekick which was hit by Alfonso Rioja. If Primitivo Quexal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Ivan Noe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Timoteo Vasco. Club Colon de San Justo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ivan Noe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Gavino Selmo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ivan Noe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ubaldo Baldovino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Primitivo Quexal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Delmar Afonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ubaldo Baldovino having to interfere. 55 minutes into the game, Club Colon de San Justo's Gavino Selmo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ubaldo Baldovino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After 65 played minutes Estudiantes got a freekick which was hit by Freddy Innocenzio. After some careless play in the Club Colon de San Justo defense, Ivan Noe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Timoteo Vasco. The Club Colon de San Justo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Timoteo Vasco should have stopped the shot. Ubaldo Baldovino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gavino Selmo's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. Gavino Selmo struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Ubaldo Baldovino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Colon de San Justo. Gabriel Nesto was shown his second yellow card after 82 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Estudiantes's Ubaldo Baldovino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delmar Afonso in the 88th minute of play. If Gavino Selmo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 93rd minute of the match Alfonso Rioja completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Alfonso Rioja a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 93rd minute, Alfonso Rioja hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Primitivo Quexal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Delmar Afonso might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ubaldo Baldovino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Delmar Afonso ran back to his position shaking his head. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Club Colon de San Justo fully deserved thier win.
