After 8 minutes, Higinio Mateo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merlo FC and the Puestito players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Puestito booed when Merlo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Higinio Mateo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Merlo FC's Jose Tulio got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 15 minutes into the game, Adolfo Barto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Puestito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merlo FC the free kick. Silvano Petrigai shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After a rather tough play, Puestito's Lucio Joanes got a free kick in the 19th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Raimundo Claus notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Merlo FC's Robustiano Chap. Robustiano Chap was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anacleto Tab in the 33rd minute of play forced Puestito's goalkeeper Domingos Esquipula to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristobal Monico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 38 played minutes, Puestito's Adolfo Barto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Robustiano Chap came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Puestito reached it. Robustiano Chap made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristobal Monico in the 40th minute of play. Puestito's Amado Abeita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Robustiano Chap in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Higinio Mateo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amado Abeita in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robustiano Chap prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Merlo FC's Ramon Guipuzkoa got a free kick in the 47th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amado Abeita in the 49th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Robustiano Chap saved Merlo FC from getting behind. The Merlo FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Puestito were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amado Abeita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Robustiano Chap made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Raimundo Claus sent off a good shot on target. Raimundo Claus came free with the goalkeeper in the 55th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Robustiano Chap could save by the left post. Cristobal Monico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raimundo Claus could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Robustiano Chap made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Cristobal Monico managed to get in a good position for a shot. Puestito's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristobal Monico was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robustiano Chap breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 66 played minutes Merlo FC got a freekick which was hit by Jose Tulio. Cristobal Monico's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Robustiano Chap read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Benito Leizarraga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 72 minutes into the match, Merlo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Amado Abeita came free, but Robustiano Chap reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Domingos Esquipula came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Merlo FC's Mateo Faron. But to his dismay, Mateo Faron quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The audience was convinced that Cristobal Monico's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Robustiano Chap was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. If Amado Abeita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, Merlo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Amado Abeita came free, but Robustiano Chap reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amado Abeita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Robustiano Chap tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amado Abeita in the 95th minute of play forced Merlo FC's goalkeeper Robustiano Chap to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Merlo FC's Mateo Faron got a free kick in the 97th minute. Puestito were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Merlo FC to leave the ground with a draw.
