The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Serafino Manuelo fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Academia's protests and gave Serafino Manuelo a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for La Academia! In the 6th minute, Fabio Nardo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amadeo Vachon was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Amadeo Vachon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lisandro Petrigai, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. With his leg Amadeo Vachon managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when La Española F.C.'s Fabio Nardo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, La Academia's Brendan Papst got a free kick in the 19th minute. Gustavo Mingo came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by La Academia's Marco Leoiar. But to his dismay, Marco Leoiar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 25 played minutes La Española F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Nardo. A collision led to La Academia getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Marco Leoiar hit a great ball. When Fausto Bidun fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 32ndth minute of the game Marco Leoiar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but La Española F.C.'s Gustavo Mingo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 35th minute, Cvijan Ignjović got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Gerardo Bittor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 43 minutes into the match, La Academia's goal looked a bit too open when Fabio Nardo came free, but Amadeo Vachon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gerardo Bittor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Mingo having to interfere. The supporters of La Academia booed when La Española F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Bidun didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

La Academia's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Amadeo Vachon came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by La Española F.C.'s Fabio Nardo. But to his dismay, Fabio Nardo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabio Nardo in the 78th minute of play forced La Academia's goalkeeper Amadeo Vachon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, La Española F.C.'s Gustavo Mingo got control of the ball when Gerardo Bittor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brendan Papst kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After 86 played minutes, La Española F.C.'s Armando Naelio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Amadeo Vachon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in La Española F.C. reached it. Gustavo Mingo made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Gerardo Bittor sent off a good shot on target. Lisandro Petrigai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Amadeo Vachon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. La Española F.C. were victorious despite being under pressure from La Academia for much of the match.
