Rene Rufio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half C.A. Bohemia were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Jan Šícha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute Jan Šícha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Rufio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfredo Di Stéfano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rene Rufio having to make a save. Rene Rufio made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Alfredo Di Stéfano sent off a good shot on target. If Guillermo Bizen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. Clodoveo Quico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomáš Boháč having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Jan Šícha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched C.A. Bohemia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
