In the 15th minute Jimeno Medina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Iraunkor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernesto Iraunkor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejandro Oihenarte in the 16th minute of play. Ernesto Iraunkor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimeno Medina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ernesto Iraunkor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alejandro Oihenarte in the 19th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Newell´s FC defense, Alejandro Oihenarte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ernesto Iraunkor. The Newell´s FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernesto Iraunkor should have stopped the shot. Figurita F.C's Elpidio Aimar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Figurita F.C from getting a goal against them. Ernesto Iraunkor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alejandro Oihenarte in the 43rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jimeno Medina in the 45th minute of play forced Newell´s FC's goalkeeper Ernesto Iraunkor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Newell´s FC's Ernesto Iraunkor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Frans in the 46th minute of play. The tension between the Newell´s FC and the Figurita F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benjamin Bizi's late challenge caught a Figurita F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benjamin Bizi helped the player get up and apologised. The long shot by Santos Farias in the 76th minute really tested Ernesto Iraunkor's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Ernesto Iraunkor was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Alejandro Oihenarte capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alejandro Oihenarte really showed his touch with that goal: 1-7. Elpidio Aimar came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Newell´s FC's Elvio Dino. But to his dismay, Elvio Dino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejandro Oihenarte in the 93rd minute of play forced Newell´s FC's goalkeeper Ernesto Iraunkor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Figurita F.C walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
