After a defensive mix-up in Argentinos Juniors's zone, Javier Barrionuevo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cipriano Urbes came out of the goal and Javier Barrionuevo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oscar Iratzeder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Delmiro Benvido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 15 played minutes Nuevo Lomas FC got a freekick which was hit by Siro Tartalo. 17 minutes into the game, Saul Naelio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Argentinos Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nuevo Lomas FC the free kick. Saul Naelio hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Javier Barrionuevo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cipriano Urbes having to interfere. Leonides Lehoi might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cipriano Urbes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leonides Lehoi ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Javier Barrionuevo in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cipriano Urbes saved Argentinos Juniors from getting behind. In the 25th minute, Javier Barrionuevo made a precise shot to the right of Cipriano Urbes. Argentinos Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Rene Seguinus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Cipriano Urbes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cipriano Urbes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Barrionuevo, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After 32 played minutes Argentinos Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Silbestre. 33 minutes into the match, Nuevo Lomas FC's Javier Barrionuevo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cipriano Urbes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Adolfo Ihazintu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nuevo Lomas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Adolfo Ihazintu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cipriano Urbes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Javier Barrionuevo in the 36th minute of play forced Argentinos Juniors's goalkeeper Cipriano Urbes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adolfo Ihazintu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cipriano Urbes having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Javier Barrionuevo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 42nd minute, Javier Barrionuevo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Argentinos Juniors's Cipriano Urbes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rene Seguinus in the 45th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Javier Barrionuevo made the kick off in the second half. When Celestino Rufo came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Argentinos Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celestino Rufo couldn't finish the play. Rene Seguinus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Delmiro Benvido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Piorno in the 57th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Javier Barrionuevo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Javier Barrionuevo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cipriano Urbes having to make a save. Cipriano Urbes was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Anacleto Marko. Cipriano Urbes made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Javier Barrionuevo sent off a good shot on target. 72 minutes into the match, Argentinos Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Javier Barrionuevo came free, but Cipriano Urbes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Javier Barrionuevo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Celestino Rufo charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Celestino Rufo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Celestino Rufo hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Cipriano Piorno hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After 82 minutes, Adolfo Ihazintu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nuevo Lomas FC and the Argentinos Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Argentinos Juniors booed when Nuevo Lomas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Ihazintu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Delmiro Benvido didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Argentinos Juniors's Oscar Iratzeder shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Javier Barrionuevo struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Cipriano Urbes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nuevo Lomas FC.
