In the 5th minute, Adan Peruanton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Deportivo Cristal booed when Abruzzo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Betão Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Abruzzo's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Poncio came free, but Ezequiel Noe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When German Bermudez came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Deportivo Cristal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that German Bermudez couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elco Israel got free with Ezequiel Noe in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Prospero Azevedo's late challenge caught a Deportivo Cristal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Prospero Azevedo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th match minute, Abruzzo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prospero Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute, Mariano Poncio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22nd minute, Elco Israel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ezequiel Noe was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Abruzzo's Ezequiel Noe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Poncio in the 25th minute of play. Mariano Poncio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ezequiel Noe having to interfere. With a little luck, Abruzzo's Ezequiel Noe got control of the ball when German Bermudez tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 31st match minute, Abruzzo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Raulo to maneuver through the defense. German Bermudez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Ezequiel Noe made a huge save. A sloppy throw-in by Arnaldo Lertxun in the 35th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Abruzzo's Dario Dacio. Eduardo Eneto fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 38th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. 45 minutes into the match, Abruzzo's goalkeeper Ezequiel Noe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by German Bermudez. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jeronimo Buinton made a kick off. German Bermudez took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ezequiel Noe. Ezequiel Noe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Deportivo Cristal's Mariano Poncio got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Prospero Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ezequiel Noe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elco Israel, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Ezequiel Noe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from German Bermudez in the 85th minute of the match. Damian Boruta was a little too slow when Jeronimo Buinton got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 2-1. When Mariano Poncio came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Deportivo Cristal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mariano Poncio couldn't finish the play. If Elco Israel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abruzzo's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Deportivo Cristal had won, even though Abruzzo had held more of the ball.
