Spectators: 7137 (Terracing: 5394, Seating: 1653, VIP seats: 90) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tomas Mendebal took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 5th play minute Arnulfo Frances came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Vladimiro Cordarrol. 1-0. The audience was convinced that Tomas Mendebal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vladimiro Cordarrol was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Tomas Mendebal's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Vladimiro Cordarrol skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 16 minutes into the game, Tomas Mendebal lined in a short shot 3-0 behind a frustrated Vladimiro Cordarrol. Tomas Mendebal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Vladimiro Cordarrol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Vladimiro Cordarrol successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 22 minutes into the match, Cristo Bernad had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vladimiro Cordarrol. Estudiantes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristo Bernad was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Vladimiro Cordarrol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Telesforo in the 25th minute of play. Goya's Basilio Frasquito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcial Columbo in the 30th minute of play. Arnulfo Frances received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Vladimiro Cordarrol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vladimiro Cordarrol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cornelio Chucho in the 36th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

Vladimiro Cordarrol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnulfo Frances in the 51st minute of the match. After having played for 52 minutes, Cornelio Chucho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goya's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cornelio Chucho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vladimiro Cordarrol came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Goya's Tomas Mendebal. But to his dismay, Tomas Mendebal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Tomas Mendebal scored 7-0 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vladimiro Cordarrol, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Goya fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when Goya's Tomas Mendebal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnulfo Frances in the 81st minute of play forced Estudiantes's goalkeeper Vladimiro Cordarrol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Mendebal in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vladimiro Cordarrol saved Estudiantes from getting behind. In the 86th minute, Mario Telesforo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Goya fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. Vladimiro Cordarrol stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Mendebal's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. In the 91st minute Mario Telesforo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimiro Cordarrol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Goya's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
