Everardo Hermelando came out and tried to block the shot, but Astor Toribio slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 20th minute. After 27 played minutes Salado got a freekick which was hit by Americo Veremundo. After 32 played minutes Boca Juniors FC got a freekick which was hit by Cesar Montay. 35 minutes into the game, Boca Juniors FC's Tom Trolla nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Everardo Hermelando made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Astor Toribio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Everardo Hermelando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Salado's goalkeeper Everardo Hermelando had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tom Trolla. Everardo Hermelando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramón Medina Bello in the 45th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicasio Playo made a kick off. When Boca Juniors FC's Astor Toribio in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. If Astor Toribio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tom Trolla struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Everardo Hermelando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca Juniors FC.
