In the 16th minute, Inocencio Pirmin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vicente Brais fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teobaldo Estevez having to interfere. If Vicente Brais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teobaldo Estevez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Romulo Bernad went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Rosendo Ado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Pepillo in the 27th minute of play. 32 minutes into the game, Standard Liege AFC's Inocencio Pirmin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rosendo Ado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Brais in the 37th minute of play forced Standard Liege AFC's goalkeeper Teobaldo Estevez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Eramos Tan Pobres booed when Standard Liege AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Naldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vicente Brais fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teobaldo Estevez having to interfere. Tadeo Betadur took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Teobaldo Estevez. Teobaldo Estevez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. In the 47th minute, Vicente Brais got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Eramos Tan Pobres were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vicente Brais to make the kick off. Teobaldo Estevez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romulo Bernad, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Enrique Domiku hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 59 minutes into the match, Standard Liege AFC's goalkeeper Teobaldo Estevez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vicente Brais. After a defensive mix-up in Standard Liege AFC's zone, Vicente Brais stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teobaldo Estevez came out of the goal and Vicente Brais tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 95th minute, Vicente Brais got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
