If Saverio Ignazio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Sauzales booed when Vizcarra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ovidio Lucero didn't get a good kick on the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Freddy Haitz notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Sauzales's Genaro Eron. Genaro Eron was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Vizcarra's Ovidio Lucero got a free kick in the 31st minute. Sauzales's Genaro Eron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saverio Ignazio in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Vizcarra were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nestor Urbasa to strike the kick off in the second half. Genaro Eron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Haitz in the 52nd minute of play. Marcelo Bittor charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcelo Bittor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Vizcarra fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erubiel Fidencio should have stopped the shot. Erubiel Fidencio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severino Guipuzkoa in the 80th minute of the match. Erubiel Fidencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Guipuzkoa, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Erubiel Fidencio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Urbasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sauzales's goalkeeper Genaro Eron, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Vizcarra eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
