The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 6th minute of the game. One of Acratas:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Godoy Cruz:s goal. Victor Aznar had in the 8thth minute some difficulties stopping Simon Bernaldo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 0-1 came in the 8th minute when Simon Bernaldo all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Victor Aznar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Javier Feo in the 12th minute of play forced Acratas's goalkeeper Victor Aznar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 17 minutes, Fulgencio Libertad managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Acratas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fulgencio Libertad was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 21 played minutes Godoy Cruz got a freekick which was hit by Igor Raymond. Arlindo Quadros's late challenge caught a Acratas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arlindo Quadros helped the player get up and apologised. In the 21st minute, one of Godoy Cruz:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Godoy Cruz. When the match had been going on for 23 minutes, Acratas's Benigno Alfonso got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Romeo Ospin. Fulgencio Libertad kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. When Godoy Cruz's Igor Raymond in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Acratas's goalie prevented a goal. Ambrosio Jerico helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Acratas's Ambrosio Jerico got a free kick in the 34th minute. When the match clock showed 38 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Javier Feo sped through Acratas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Victor Aznar. Victor Aznar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Igor Raymond in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Igor Raymond got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Victor Aznar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Javier Feo went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Igor Raymond stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Acratas's Victor Aznar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Acratas from getting a goal against them. Igor Raymond's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victor Aznar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Victor Aznar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Raymond in the 58th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Igor Raymond got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arlindo Quadros hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute Igor Raymond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Aznar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fulgencio Libertad hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Victor Aznar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Raymond, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sergio Fiz during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Godoy Cruz booed when Acratas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sergio Fiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th minute, Fulgencio Libertad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Igor Raymond had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Godoy Cruz's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
