After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Mustafa Yzzet Taylan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palermo AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mustafa Yzzet Taylan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo Araoz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Severo Balesio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Araoz having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Mustafa Yzzet Taylan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Gustavo Araoz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Boca Jrs's Gustavo Araoz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mustafa Yzzet Taylan in the 20th minute of play. The Boca Jrs fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Boca Jrs's Domingos Guipuzkoa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 25 minutes into the game, Palermo AFC's Mustafa Yzzet Taylan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gustavo Araoz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Generoso Kaiet made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Gösta Hedlund sent off a good shot on target. Gustavo Araoz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emiliano Formerio, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Delmiro Loco hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After 35 minutes of play, Palermo AFC's Mustafa Yzzet Taylan made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gustavo Araoz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gösta Hedlund did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-3 to the left of a surprised Generoso Kaiet 39 minutes into the match. Severo Balesio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Gustavo Araoz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Guipuzkoa in the 47th minute of play forced Palermo AFC's goalkeeper Generoso Kaiet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 3-3 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gösta Hedlund stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Generoso Kaiet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingos Guipuzkoa in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mustafa Yzzet Taylan in the 55th minute of play forced Boca Jrs's goalkeeper Gustavo Araoz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustavo Araoz made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Severo Balesio sent off a good shot on target. Gustavo Araoz came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Palermo AFC's Emiliano Formerio. But to his dismay, Emiliano Formerio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. Severo Balesio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Gustavo Araoz made a huge save. Gustavo Araoz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mustafa Yzzet Taylan in the 66th minute of play. Boca Jrs's Gustavo Araoz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiliano Formerio in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute of the match, Severo Balesio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gustavo Araoz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Boca Jrs's Gustavo Araoz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mustafa Yzzet Taylan in the 77th minute of play. Gösta Hedlund struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Generoso Kaiet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca Jrs. Domingos Guipuzkoa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Generoso Kaiet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Emiliano Formerio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gustavo Araoz, 3-5. Palermo AFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
