In the 2nd minute, Gino Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luisito Palos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gino Branco's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. In the 11th minute Gino Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisito Palos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aristides Gurutz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Atarratze having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Coloboy's goal looked a bit too open when Gino Branco came free, but Luisito Palos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Basilio Jaunti notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Coloboy's Luisito Palos. Luisito Palos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Aristides Gurutz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Rafael Atarratze tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luisito Palos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gino Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 47th minute, Guaberto Firmo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Riestra fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After the first half Deportivo Riestra were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aristides Gurutz to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Deportivo Riestra getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Gino Branco hit a great ball. In the 57th match minute, Coloboy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edelmiro Pierres to maneuver through the defense. Luisito Palos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gino Branco showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 60 minute of play. In the 72nd match minute, Coloboy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florencio Araoz to maneuver through the defense. Rafael Atarratze showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristides Gurutz, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristides Gurutz in the 77th minute of play forced Deportivo Riestra's goalkeeper Rafael Atarratze to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aristides Gurutz couldn't finish the play. Gino Branco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Luisito Palos came out and tried to block the shot, but Gino Branco slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 93rd minute. In the 97thth minute of the game Aristides Gurutz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Riestra's Rafael Atarratze was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Deportivo Riestra eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
