The coaching staff of Deportivo Riestra protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Julio Palos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Deportivo Riestra! In the 49th minute there was a penalty for Alte . Brown. Americo Perpinya stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rafael Atarratze. 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guaberto Firmo made a kick off. Marcelo Paio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guaberto Firmo in the 57th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Joel Abastas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Basilio Jaunti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rafael Atarratze made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Joel Abastas sent off a good shot on target. Leonel Cresitobalo's late challenge caught a Deportivo Riestra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonel Cresitobalo helped the player get up and apologised. Romeo Tabb charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Romeo Tabb the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 86 played minutes Deportivo Riestra got a freekick which was hit by Romeo Tabb. 93 minutes into the game, Deportivo Riestra's Aldo Obano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcelo Paio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Rafael Atarratze made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Joel Abastas sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Deportivo Riestra getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Romeo Tabb hit a great ball. Deportivo Riestra's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
