The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tomás Gil struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Delmar Gudesteo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monasters. After some careless play in the Vásquez FC defense, Sebastian Tiso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Delmar Gudesteo. The Vásquez FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Delmar Gudesteo should have stopped the shot. After 7 played minutes Vásquez FC got a freekick which was hit by Celedonio Frascuelo. In the 11th match minute, Monasters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jass Aunaste to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute Anastasio Piorno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delmar Gudesteo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Delmar Gudesteo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pasha Hidayat in the 24th minute of play. After 25 minutes of play, Monasters's Juarês Cardoso made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Delmar Gudesteo was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Monasters booed when Vásquez FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adan Cresencio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Monasters's Tomás Gil got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Delmar Gudesteo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anastasio Piorno in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Patricio Quinteros made a precise shot to the right of Guido Colon. Monasters's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Patricio Quinteros's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Guido Colon firmly grabbed it by the left post. 45 minutes into the match, Vásquez FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Tiso came free, but Delmar Gudesteo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Delmar Gudesteo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anastasio Piorno in the 46th minute of the match. The Vásquez FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Monasters were winning 1-3.

Celedonio Frascuelo charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Celedonio Frascuelo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 52nd match minute, Vásquez FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celedonio Frascuelo to maneuver through the defense. In the 54th minute of the match Fabio Gaizko shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Delmar Gudesteo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by German Panpili in the 57th minute of play forced Monasters's goalkeeper Guido Colon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Vásquez FC booed when Monasters was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ambrosio Frasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Monasters getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Anastasio Piorno hit a great ball. In the 74th minute Pasha Hidayat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delmar Gudesteo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pasha Hidayat took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Delmar Gudesteo. Delmar Gudesteo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patricio Quinteros during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 79th minute, Patricio Quinteros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Delmar Gudesteo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pasha Hidayat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Vásquez FC's Delmar Gudesteo got control of the ball when Anastasio Piorno tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Patricio Quinteros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Delmar Gudesteo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Gil in the 85th minute of the match. In the 86th match minute, Monasters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pasha Hidayat to maneuver through the defense. Vásquez FC's German Panpili got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Delmar Gudesteo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anastasio Piorno in the 94th minute of play. Monasters's Guido Colon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Quinteros in the 95th minute of play. The Monasters supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Monasters would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
