In the 27th match minute, santa rita fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Niva to maneuver through the defense. Paulo Gaskon might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ladislao Dorio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo Gaskon ran back to his position shaking his head. Bernal FC's Necat Başok got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Gaskon in the 34th minute of play forced santa rita fc's goalkeeper Ladislao Dorio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Bernardo Niva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 45 played minutes Bernal FC got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Gaskon. After the first half Bernal FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Hilario Blasco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see santa rita fc lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
