In the 7thth minute of the game Vicente Polentzi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Somisa FC's Melker Berggren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vicente Polentzi in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Melker Berggren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Lunáticos de Montevideo booed when Somisa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pastor Sauveur didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Pastor Sauveur hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Vicente Polentzi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Melker Berggren was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. The supporters of Lunáticos de Montevideo booed when Somisa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pastor Sauveur didn't get a good kick on the ball. Melker Berggren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Polentzi in the 28th minute of the match. Pastor Sauveur hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. The Lunáticos de Montevideo fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when Lunáticos de Montevideo's Vicente Polentzi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Toby Clist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 41 played minutes Lunáticos de Montevideo got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Polentzi. 44 minutes into the match, Vicente Polentzi notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Somisa FC's Melker Berggren. Melker Berggren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Vicente Polentzi came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Lunáticos de Montevideo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Polentzi couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Somisa FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Leo Sendoa in the 53rd minute. After taking down the ball on Somisa FC's corner Zacarias Turi fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Cayetano Reno quite easily take care of the ball. Melker Berggren made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Vicente Polentzi sent off a good shot on target. If Vicente Polentzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lunáticos de Montevideo's Cayetano Reno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustino Maule in the 65th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Vicente Polentzi put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Melker Berggren. 74 minutes into the game, Rolando Austin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lunáticos de Montevideo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Somisa FC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lunáticos de Montevideo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 73rd minute. Penalty! A collision led to Lunáticos de Montevideo getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Rolando Austin hit a great ball. Lunáticos de Montevideo's Toby Clist got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 87th minute Toby Clist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melker Berggren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute of the match Lunáticos de Montevideo got a corner. Somisa FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vicente Polentzi ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toby Clist got free with Melker Berggren in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 98 minutes, Toby Clist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lunáticos de Montevideo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toby Clist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
