Afanasiy Kolesnikov hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Casper Claes made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when 徐光朋 sent off a good shot on target. The throw-in from Afanasiy Kolesnikov in the 27th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Belgium's Laurens Vandamme. Maksim Proskurin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Casper Claes. Belgium's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 33 played minutes Балтика -95 Калининград got a freekick which was hit by Afanasiy Kolesnikov. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 35th minute of play forced Балтика -95 Калининград's goalkeeper Kir Kachalov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Балтика -95 Калининград's zone, Edward Vanderstraeten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kir Kachalov came out of the goal and Edward Vanderstraeten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kir Kachalov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 41st minute, Marat Chernodarov made a precise shot to the right of Casper Claes. Belgium's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In a very dangerous position, a player in Балтика -95 Калининград fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 45th minute. Penalty! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kirill Ivanshin made a kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kir Kachalov. Балтика -95 Калининград's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edward Vanderstraeten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Kir Kachalov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 58th minute of play. Балтика -95 Калининград's Kir Kachalov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 63rd minute of play. Балтика -95 Калининград made a substitution. Anatoliy Arhipov replaced Maksim Proskurin. In the 66th minute, Afanasiy Kolesnikov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kir Kachalov made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Yves Dervaux sent off a good shot on target. Edward Vanderstraeten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Kir Kachalov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
