When Victorino Cutberto fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deferensores de Coghlan's protests and gave Victorino Cutberto a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Social y dep. Melo booed when Deferensores de Coghlan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorino Cutberto didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Deferensores de Coghlan getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Afonsinho Trigo hit a great ball. Elvio Donostia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Domingo Pelayo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Gustavo Oliveiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Domingo Pelayo. That made the score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. Gustavo Oliveiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Domingo Pelayo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustavo Oliveiro ran back to his position shaking his head. Gogo Lertxun recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Norberto Sabino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gogo Lertxun in the 27th minute of the match. Gogo Lertxun struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Norberto Sabino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deferensores de Coghlan. Inocencio Arotza hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Social y dep. Melo's Inocencio Arotza got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 46th minute, Afonsinho Trigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Domingo Pelayo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Oliveiro in the 55th minute of the match. Gogo Lertxun blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Norberto Sabino having to make a save. Ramon Laurendi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Norberto Sabino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonsinho Trigo in the 60th minute of play forced Social y dep. Melo's goalkeeper Norberto Sabino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Domingo Pelayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Oliveiro in the 66th minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, Gustavo Oliveiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Domingo Pelayo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 74th minute, Gustavo Oliveiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Social y dep. Melo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Social y dep. Melo's Norberto Sabino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramon Laurendi in the 81st minute of play. Gogo Lertxun might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Norberto Sabino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gogo Lertxun ran back to his position shaking his head. Gogo Lertxun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Norberto Sabino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play.
