The audience was convinced that Rene Gonsalve's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ceferino Escobar was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. After having played for 24 minutes, Tadeo Pepillo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Del Valle's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeo Pepillo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Albino Cucao's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ceferino Escobar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Ceferino Escobar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rene Gonsalve in the 34th minute of the match. Ceferino Escobar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rene Gonsalve, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Albino Cucao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Albino Cucao in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ceferino Escobar saved Del Valle from getting behind. Rene Gonsalve scored 0-2 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ceferino Escobar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luciano Erasto was the one to do the kick off. C.A. LANUS's Rene Gonsalve was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 55th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 76th minute, Albino Cucao left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.A. LANUS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luciano Erasto in the 80th managed to get into a good position. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albino Cucao got free with Ceferino Escobar in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 93 minutes into the match, Del Valle's goalkeeper Ceferino Escobar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Albino Cucao. The Del Valle fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. C.A. LANUS were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
