Spectators: 7035 (Terracing: 5361, Seating: 1644, VIP seats: 30) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Iker Librado took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of Galaxy booed when Fernández was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iker Librado didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 10 played minutes, Fernández's Arsenio Vachon shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fulgencio Xacintu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fernández reached it. After 11 played minutes Galaxy got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Goren. 1-0 became the score in the 15th minute when Braulio Ubendu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Aurelio Artaldo scored 1-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fulgencio Xacintu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 27th minute, Teobaldo Colon reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Emilio Claus. The goal made the score 2-1. Fernández's defense didn't have a chance, in the 31st minute, when Clodoveo Bartuelo scored to the left of an out of position Emilio Claus, making the score, 3-1. After 37 played minutes Fernández got a freekick which was hit by Emilio Ramone. In the 40th minute, Iker Librado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 46 played minutes Fernández got a freekick which was hit by Emilio Ramone. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Patrick Mellberg to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Emilio Ramone got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 56th match minute, Galaxy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braulio Ubendu to maneuver through the defense. Galaxy made a substitution. Hipolito Romero replaced Clodoveo Bartuelo. In the 62nd minute, Emilio Ramone got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 66th minute Teobaldo Colon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Claus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Fernández's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Mellberg came free, but Emilio Claus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, Patrick Mellberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emilio Claus was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hipolito Romero in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emilio Claus prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 82nd minute Braulio Ubendu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Claus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fulgencio Xacintu came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Fernández's Emilio Ramone. But to his dismay, Emilio Ramone quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. A collision led to Galaxy getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Teobaldo Colon hit a great ball.
