The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Benjamin Gipuzkoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. With an all-out effort, Malota FC's Dalmacio Raulo threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Clemente Elizardo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dalmacio Raulo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clemente Elizardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Celso Arias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clemente Elizardo got free with Dalmacio Raulo in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpected shot in the 26th minute by Celso Arias got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 29th minute, Malota FC's Clemente Elizardo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dalmacio Raulo. Dalmacio Raulo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. When Celso Arias came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Malota FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celso Arias couldn't finish the play. Clemente Elizardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Dalmacio Raulo made a huge save. Benjamin Gipuzkoa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paternal's Dalmacio Raulo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Paternal from getting a goal against them. In the 48th minute, Malota FC's Clemente Elizardo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Malota FC made a substitution. Ambrosio Primeiro replaced Lorenzo Quinteros. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Dalmacio Raulo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso Arias in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Elizardo in the 55th minute of play forced Paternal's goalkeeper Dalmacio Raulo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Malota FC's zone, Benjamin Gipuzkoa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serafino Txordon came out of the goal and Benjamin Gipuzkoa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Celso Arias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dalmacio Raulo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Delmiro Karlo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paternal's Benjamin Gipuzkoa got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Delmiro Karlo during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 86 played minutes Malota FC got a freekick which was hit by Ambrosio Primeiro. Freddy Beturian missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 88 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Serafino Txordon right hand side. In the 94th minute, Delmiro Karlo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Freddy Beturian came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Paternal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Freddy Beturian couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Malota FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Paternal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
