Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. After having played for 14 minutes, Antoni Bartoszek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Umbrella Corporation's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antoni Bartoszek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. John Lennon spun around in front of the goal 17 minutes in the game and got away a good shot, but Arnout Reekers grabbed the ball before it went up in top right corner. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the last second Arnout Reekers throw himself and got hold of the ball when Antoni Bartoszek in the 24thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute, Rômulo Freire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Sebastião Barbosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastião Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free with the goalkeeper in the 70th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sebastião Barbosa could save by the left post. In the 73rd minute, Lars Meesters ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sebastião Barbosa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Sebastião Barbosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastião Barbosa made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Sebastião Barbosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antoni Bartoszek in the 89th minute of play. Bas Tuitert hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Alfredo Curado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
