Santo Uhin did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Benigno Vargas 11 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute Romulo Constancio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ludomir Luty saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Los ultravioletas getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Tomás Rivero hit a great ball. Los ultravioletas's Benigno Vargas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santo Uhin in the 25th minute of play. In the 30thth minute of the game Romulo Constancio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Defensores unidos's Ludomir Luty was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Los ultravioletas booed when Defensores unidos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Defensores unidos's Israel Oihan got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benigno Vargas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Santo Uhin went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Santo Uhin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 45thth minute, Benigno Vargas skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Los ultravioletas getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Bob Jedal hit a great ball.

The Los ultravioletas fans' excitement grew in the 56th match minute when Los ultravioletas's Romulo Constancio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Los ultravioletas's Benigno Vargas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldo Dracena in the 68th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Defensores unidos's Reynaldo Arias got a free kick in the 72nd minute. In the 75th match minute, Los ultravioletas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arsenio Quiroga to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the game, Santo Uhin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Benigno Vargas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 80th minute, Ceferino Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd match minute, Defensores unidos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reynaldo Arias to maneuver through the defense. After 84 played minutes Defensores unidos got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Dracena. Ludomir Luty was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Bob Jedal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santo Uhin in the 87th minute of play forced Los ultravioletas's goalkeeper Benigno Vargas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Los ultravioletas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Defensores unidos.
