The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Deportivo Cristal's Rene Matia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Cristal from getting a goal against them. In the 33rd minute of the match, Marcelino Tolino got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rene Matia was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 35 minutes into the match, Deportivo Cristal's goal looked a bit too open when Amado Mikeldi came free, but Rene Matia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Cristal's zone, Amado Mikeldi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rene Matia came out of the goal and Amado Mikeldi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Victorio Aznaro fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los chuncacos's protests and gave Victorio Aznaro a yellow card for diving instead. After 40 played minutes Los chuncacos got a freekick which was hit by Victorio Aznaro. In the 41st minute of the match Higinio Estavan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eriberto Oinaz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Deportivo Cristal's goalkeeper Rene Matia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcelino Tolino. Rene Matia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amado Mikeldi in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anastasio Laurendi was the one to do the kick off. If Anastasio Laurendi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isaac Ignazios short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Eriberto Oinaz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Los chuncacos's Eriberto Oinaz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Los chuncacos from getting a goal against them. In the 65th minute, Isaac Ignazio made a precise shot to the right of Eriberto Oinaz. Los chuncacos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. If Amado Mikeldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rene Matia came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Los chuncacos's Amado Mikeldi. But to his dismay, Amado Mikeldi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Los chuncacos's Andres Lapurdi was substituted for Remigio Efren. After 96 played minutes Deportivo Cristal got a freekick which was hit by Isaias Acevedo. Los chuncacos walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
