After a defensive mix-up in Banfield's zone, Lázaro Mikelar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnaldo Haritzeder came out of the goal and Lázaro Mikelar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 36th minute of the match Trebolares got a corner. Banfield's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lázaro Mikelar ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Trebolares's Lázaro Mikelar to fire away a dangerous shot which Arnaldo Haritzeder despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Silverio Rosario fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Banfield's protests and gave Silverio Rosario a yellow card for diving instead. Lázaro Mikelar, 44 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Lázaro Mikelar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnaldo Haritzeder prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arnaldo Haritzeder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lázaro Mikelar in the 95th minute of the match. Trebolares's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
