But to his dismay, Venancio Venceslao quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Venancio Venceslao in the 44th minute of play forced Ceres's goalkeeper Dionisio Ponciano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Dionisio Ponciano had great luck who in the 72ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Venancio Venceslao from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Ceres's Dionisio Ponciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Azevedo in the 74th minute of play.
