After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Humberto Rivero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trelew FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Humberto Rivero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romulo Tano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Club Atlético de Rafaela's Haroldo Tipi in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Trelew FC's goalie prevented a goal. After 9 played minutes Club Atlético de Rafaela got a freekick which was hit by Severino Egoitz. Club Atlético de Rafaela's Romulo Tano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético de Rafaela from getting a goal against them. Romulo Tano was out of position in the 15 minute of play, and Humberto Rivero capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Humberto Rivero really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 18th minute, Trelew FC's Ludo Schouters dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Jiří Zita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romulo Tano having to interfere. Romulo Tano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Humberto Rivero's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Edmund Czapski was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 33 minutes into the match. A sloppy throw-in by Segundo Kismi in the 47th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Club Atlético de Rafaela's Haroldo Tipi. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Humberto Rivero made the kick off in the second half. Romulo Tano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jiří Zita in the 52nd minute of the match. The supporters of Club Atlético de Rafaela booed when Trelew FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baldomero Honrio didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Rivero in the 60th minute of play forced Club Atlético de Rafaela's goalkeeper Romulo Tano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Romulo Tano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ludo Schouters went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Humberto Rivero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Romulo Tano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Rivero in the 70th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, Jiří Zita notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Club Atlético de Rafaela's Romulo Tano. Romulo Tano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bernardino Barrionuevo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romulo Tano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Jesus Roano hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Nestor Orlondo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Godfredo Enetz in the 91st minute. Godfredo Enetz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Nestor Orlondo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trelew FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
