Olascoaga's Segundo Maule played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Feyyaz Göktürk in the 6th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Olascoaga's zone, Feyyaz Göktürk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Segundo Maule came out of the goal and Feyyaz Göktürk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 13 minutes into the match, Olascoaga's goal looked a bit too open when Feyyaz Göktürk came free, but Segundo Maule reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Feyyaz Göktürk struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Segundo Maule didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barreal. If Feyyaz Göktürk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Barreal getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Fabian Felipillo hit a great ball. In the 37th minute Celestino Clis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquiles Artizar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute of the match Feyyaz Göktürk shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Segundo Maule showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by Olascoaga's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Feyyaz Göktürk was slow to take the kick. During this time Barreal's players had a chance to rest. Laurentiu Hagi hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute of the match Lorenzo Ubarna sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aquiles Artizar skillfully saved the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Celestino Clis to make the kick off. The supporters of Olascoaga booed when Barreal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Munio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Celestino Clis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olascoaga's supporters rose to their feet, but Celestino Clis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aquiles Artizar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th minute, Celestino Clis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Olascoaga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 66 minutes into the game, Feyyaz Göktürk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barreal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Olascoaga the free kick. Feyyaz Göktürk hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Niceto Emenon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Aquiles Artizar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Celestino Clis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Olascoaga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 84 minutes into the match, Barreal's goalkeeper Aquiles Artizar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Celestino Clis. With his leg Aquiles Artizar managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when Olascoaga's Celestino Clis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Benito Beturian's late challenge caught a Barreal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benito Beturian helped the player get up and apologised. Modesto Eliazar hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. The long shot by Lorenzo Ubarna in the 97th minute really tested Aquiles Artizar's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Although Barreal had been in control for most of the match, Olascoaga still came away with the win.
