Israel Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 8 minutes, Maximino Menendo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Recoleta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximino Menendo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Israel Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Peruxu having to interfere. Faustino Mergildo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Faustino Mergildo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 19th minute Maximino Menendo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciriaco Naelio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Maximino Menendo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Faustino Mergildo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After recieving a nice pass, Recoleta's Ermegildo Montrel tried to score from far away in the 48th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Israel Barbosa made a kick off. Juan Peruxu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guaberto Gerazan's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Israel Barbosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guaberto Gerazan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Peruxu having to interfere. Faustino Mergildo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ombú's Israel Barbosa, in the 69th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Ombú. After a defensive mix-up in Ombú's zone, Faustino Mergildo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciriaco Naelio came out of the goal and Faustino Mergildo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ombú's Ciriaco Naelio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustino Mergildo in the 78th minute of play. After 79 minutes, Iker Illart mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ombú and the Recoleta players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Recoleta booed when Ombú was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iker Illart didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maximino Menendo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute Faustino Mergildo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciriaco Naelio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernabe Lonzo charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernabe Lonzo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Recoleta's Juan Peruxu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guaberto Gerazan in the 96th minute of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
