Yapeyú FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Oscar Herrera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Justino Tano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 19th minute, Domingos Ortzi made a precise shot to the right of Justino Tano. El Talar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Jaime Espiridion took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Justino Tano. Justino Tano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 27 minutes into the match, Oscar Herrera had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Justino Tano. El Talar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oscar Herrera was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The audience was convinced that Oscar Herrera's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Justino Tano was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Leandro Telmo kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Jaime Espiridion put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Justino Tano. If Oscar Herrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaime Espiridion's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Justino Tano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Cipriano Bela charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cipriano Bela the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 45 minutes into the match, El Talar's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Herrera came free, but Justino Tano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oscar Herrera to make the kick off. Jaime Espiridion received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Justino Tano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. El Talar's Justino Tano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save El Talar from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in El Talar's zone, Oscar Herrera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Justino Tano came out of the goal and Oscar Herrera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eliseo Savion's shot from long distance in the 61st minute was not bad at all, but El Talar's Justino Tano knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Jaime Espiridion sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, El Talar's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Herrera came free, but Justino Tano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Jaime Espiridion got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 74th minute Oscar Herrera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justino Tano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. El Talar's Justino Tano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save El Talar from getting a goal against them. If Oscar Herrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cipriano Bela was shown his second yellow card after 85 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. El Talar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yapeyú FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, El Talar's Hipolito Dantae got a free kick in the 88th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Eliseo Savion sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Justino Tano threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Eliseo Savion this time. When Domingos Ortzi fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yapeyú FC's protests and gave Domingos Ortzi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Yapeyú FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Domingos Ortzi hit a great ball. Leonides Rexino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnoldo Gorri in the 97th minute of play. The El Talar fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Yapeyú FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
