El Ciclón's Ernesto Ondino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximino Kauldi in the 36th minute of play. The supporters of El Ciclón booed when Ciénaga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severiano Mikelar didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Prospero Cidro managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when El Ciclón's Francisco Ihazintu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Prospero Cidro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Ihazintu in the 78th minute of play. Ciénaga's Prospero Cidro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Ciénaga from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Alejo Barrionuevo managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Ciclón's supporters rose to their feet, but Alejo Barrionuevo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Prospero Cidro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Alejo Barrionuevo fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
