The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mario Cerilo during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The long shot by Sofoklis Violaris in the 35th minute really tested Luis Aragones's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Srimati Tulasi's Luis Aragones played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aquilino Rosario in the 44th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Melchor Ederono to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Jairo Guib got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Abraham Sliepers managed to avoid a goal in the 59thth minute, when Srimati Tulasi's Menéndez Portillo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 63 minutes of play, Salta FC's Jairo Guib made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luis Aragones showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Melchor Ederono, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Melchor Ederono fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Aragones having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Jairo Guib made a precise shot to the right of Luis Aragones. Srimati Tulasi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-1. Jonatan Berdaitz's late challenge caught a Srimati Tulasi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonatan Berdaitz helped the player get up and apologised. Jonatan Berdaitz hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Luis Aragones showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sofoklis Violaris in the 95th minute of the match. Salta FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
