Gregorio Calisto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aaron Olayo having to interfere. Epifanio Modestio hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Pierres in the 26th minute of play forced La Guardia Imperial's goalkeeper Aaron Olayo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jose Guzman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Aaron Olayo made a huge save. In the 34th minute Edgard Suarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Refugio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquin Refugio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvise Sanna, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After 37 played minutes Jinetes de Acero FC got a freekick which was hit by Melquiades Honrio. Jinetes de Acero FC's Joaquin Refugio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Suarez in the 38th minute of play. Joaquin Refugio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ubaldo Damario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomás Pierres hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edgard Suarez made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Epifanio Modestio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Refugio. Jinetes de Acero FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Epifanio Modestio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geronimo Cordarell in the 58th minute of play forced La Guardia Imperial's goalkeeper Aaron Olayo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgard Suarez's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 60thth minute, Joaquin Refugio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 64th minute, Edgard Suarez reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Joaquin Refugio. The goal made the score 1-3. 71 minutes into the match, Jinetes de Acero FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ramiro Selmo came free, but Joaquin Refugio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Geronimo Cordarell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jinetes de Acero FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Geronimo Cordarell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aaron Olayo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Edgard Suarez fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Guardia Imperial's protests and gave Edgard Suarez a yellow card for diving instead. Geronimo Cordarell took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aaron Olayo. Aaron Olayo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. With a little luck, Jinetes de Acero FC's Joaquin Refugio got control of the ball when Edgard Suarez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joaquin Refugio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ubaldo Damario in the 97th minute of play. La Guardia Imperial's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
